Union Worx IBEW Local 1003

Please read the following information about our referral procedures carefully.

Getting Started

  • You must be on the out-of-work list and log-in to bid job calls from this site. Use the Login button on the upper right of this page.
  • There is an email feature to recover your password 24 hours a day. We can also assist you with your login information during office hours.

Signing the book - Adding yourself to unemployment list

  • When you become unemployed, Navigate to the " Out of Work List Request" found on the home page of the Union Worx app.
  • Choose the applicable book ( Journey/Apprentice), after this, click "Submit". The office will then get a notification of your request and either approve it or contact you about your employment status.
  • Applicants will be placed in order on the unemployment list for which they qualify.
  • It is your responsibility to maintain your log-in information.
  • ONLY ONE (1) username/password per person. If you can't log-in, DO NOT create another account. Contact the office for assistance at (250) 354-4177.

Bidding & Taking Jobs

  • All applicants will need to log-in to use the online bid system. If you need help getting logged-in, the office staff will be able to assist you.
  • Job calls are posted at 4:00 pm to the Union Worx mobile app and will remain posted until filled.
  • A member's number on the unemployment list will reflect their latest termination of employment ( i.e. the lower the number on the list, the longer the member has been out of work).
  • When bidding on a job using Union Worx, members with the lowest numbers bid on the job will be selected first.
  • Applicants who are registered on the unemployment list may log in and bid for jobs that they qualify for. If multiple jobs are bid, the applicant must select a priority order. Make sure you CONFIRM each bid.
  • All applicants who placed a bid can be notified of their status via email, text message and/or push notifications. Keep in mind, the OFFICIAL notification of your job call status is found in the ACCOUNT section of the Job Call System.
  • Once accepted for a job, the member will receive contact information on who to report to through Union Worx. Any further information will be conveyed by the employer. At this point the member will be considered dispatched for work and removed from the unemployment list.
  • A BID IS A BINDING COMMITMENT TO TAKE THE CALL. DO NOT BID THE JOB IF YOU CANNOT COMPLETE THE REFERRAL AND TAKE THE CALL.
  • If a member changes their mind and refuses to report to the job they have been dispatched to, their name will be placed at the bottom of the unemployment list unless an acceptable reason has been given to the Business Manager and/or Executive Board.
  • REMINDER THAT BASIC DUES MUST BE PAID TO DATE - If your basic dues are not paid to date (within the current month) you will not be awarded that job
